Summary

The comprehensive theatrical upgrade at Hillsborough High School has transformed their theater into a state-of-the-art performance space. With modernized stage lighting, rigging, and audio systems, the facility is now fully equipped to support a wide range of productions and events, delivering outstanding quality and versatility.

The project involved installing an advanced lighting infrastructure controlled by an ETC Ion XE digital console with touchscreen monitors and DMX capabilities, ensuring seamless operation from both the stage and control desk. The upgrade included new dead-hung rigging for key electrics and top-of-the-line LED stage lights, such as Chauvet LED spotlights and color PAR fixtures, offering unlimited creative potential for performances. We added dimmable LED work lights into the stage area, providing practical and energy-efficient lighting for non-theatrical events like meetings, rehearsals, and stage maintenance. This feature minimizes the need to use the theatrical lighting system for everyday activities, offering a convenient and versatile solution.

The outdated house lighting was entirely replaced with a high-performance LED system, featuring smooth, gradual dimming and enhanced brightness. This upgrade ensures the space is versatile and well-lit for any occasion, from classroom settings to large-scale events.

The audio system was also upgraded with Electro-Voice high-performance speaker arrays, an Allen & Heath digital audio mixing console with wireless control, and premium-quality microphones, including wireless headset and handheld options. The system’s design delivers crystal-clear sound for every performance, from school plays to large events.
