Summary
North Bergen High School is a vibrant center of creativity, where students from all art forms—whether they’re sculpting in ceramics or playing in the band—come together to produce amazing theatrical performances. To support this artistic energy, we upgraded the school’s technical systems, starting with a state-of-the-art, expandable DMX power control and lighting system. The heart of this system is the ETC Ion Xe 20 Digital Lighting Console, which, along with dual touchscreens and a full control setup, provides flawless coverage across the stage.
The new lighting package includes versatile LED color-changing fixtures that give students the freedom to explore endless creative possibilities in their shows. We replaced the outdated and unsafe rigging system with sturdy new supports and dead-hung rigging, ensuring both safety and reliability. To compliment the new stage lighting, we upgrades the house lighting system, that features 103 dimmable LED fixtures, all easily controlled through the intuitive ETC Paradigm Architectural Processor.
The audio system was enhanced with JBL array systems, an Allen & Heath SQ5 48-channel mixing console, and a comprehensive suite of wireless microphones and stage monitors, all housed securely in a locking equipment rack. For video, we installed a 15K lumen laser projector, along with an HDMI stage connection, delivering high-quality projection capabilities.
Finally, we added a custom roll top desk in the back center of the auditorium, designed to securely house the lighting and audio consoles, monitors, and other control equipment, providing easy access during performances. This upgrade not only boosts the technical capabilities of North Bergen High School’s theater but also enriches the students' creative experiences, allowing them to bring their artistic visions to life with the tools they need.
